A New Year of Adventures

I'm so sorry it’s been a while since I’ve written, but MAN...I've been a busy bee. I told Mom that she needs to help me be better about updating my blog so my followers know what I'm up to..and she promised. So, I'm asking all of you to help me hold her accountable.

First off - not sure if you heard, but I'm ONE!!!! Who Hoo...and what a birthday it was. Mom and Dad threw me such a fun party. They invited all of their friends over to help me celebrate - I can't wait until I get my own friends to invite to my birthday parties (not that I don't love my mommy and daddy's friends - but they're just a bit older than me and don't always understand what I'm saying.). But, my party was fun - and I loved all of my presents. I got some clothes, puzzles, books, a tent, a big police car that I can ride in, a wagon, a toy box, some books and even some money. And, I got my first pair of my very own Cowboy boots. I can't wait for them to fit me.

Apparently, at birthday parties, you eat lots of sugar - cake, cookies and ice cream. I tried all of it, but my favorite was my Grandma Liebsch's sugar cookies. And, she made them in the shape of number 1's - becuase that's how old I am. Isn't that cool? I hope I get number cookies at all of my birthday parties.

This is a picture of me eating my number one cookie.

This is a picture of me in my new wagon with my GIANT elmo from my cousin Tatum. I love Elmo!

Not sure if you have heard, but I've started to walk. That's right - I'm a crusing machine these days. And walking is so much better than crawling. Crawling was starting to hurt my knees a bit - and I can get around much faster walking. Mommy said she doesn't have very video of me walking - I say that's because I'm too fast!!!!

I got to celebrate Halloween this year - and I wasn't in the hospital. This year, we did a family costume. Daddy was Popeye, Mommy was Olive Oyl and I was Swee' Pea! We even went Trick O'Treating with mommy's friends Stacy, Eric and Bryson. Bryson is two and he and I used to go to the same Day Care. Check out our cool Family Photo!

Here are some other random photos from the last couple of months. I'll try and explain them to you.
1. I love to eat by myself. I'm getting pretty good with a spoon - but then again, who doesn't love to lick the bowl?!?!?

2. My favorite meal is Salmon, rice and spinach.

3. I love to Swim. I was taking swimming lessons, but we've stopped for the winter months. But, we still go swimming out our gym.

4. This is just a really cute picture (so mommy says!)

5. I've discovered the pots and pans in the kitchen. I'm getting good at stirring with the big spoon. Sometimes I like to pretend to eat from the spoon - I think that's funny.

I told mommy she had to help me think back over the last 6 months and give everyone an update of what happened over the summer. So, look for that posting soon!!!

Happy November....
Love, Liam

Hanging with the Monkeys

Mommy and Daddy got us a membership at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was such a nice day today that we decided to go. This was my second time at the zoo. The first time I went, I went with my cousins Jonah, Tess and Tatum.

At the zoo today, I got to help feed the giraffes and the birds. Check it out!

I really wanted to see the monkeys, but they were sleeping when I was there and not very playful.

This zoo is really neat. It doesn't get any taxpayer dollars and is run solely off of donations and memberships. Daddy says that is what it is a succesfful zoo.

Happy Spring

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile....but I've been very busy. This "Figuring Out Life" stuff is really exciting. Wow....if I only had time to write everything my little blue eyes have seen.

Mommy and Daddy started teaching me to play soccer, and I had the best time. It was the first time I laughed out loud. I had made the same sounds in my head, but this time, the sounds came out of my mouth. It was so much fun!

I've also started rolling over to my back..and to my stomach...and to my back again. I wasn't a big fan of being on my tummy, so I started rolling onto my back. However, I couldn't reach my toys when I was on my back, so I started rolling onto my tummy. I'm getting better about being on my stomach - it's still not my favorite - it takes a lot of energy to push yourself up.

And, do you know how much I love to talk???

I love playing with my toes. Have you ever tasted your toes??? Mine taste fantastic. It's funny, though. Everytime I poop my pants and I'm getting changed, everyone rushes to make sure my feet don't touch my diaper. It's funny to watch everyone freak out. And speaking of poop - I've had some blowouts lately. One time, when daddy was changing me, somehow poop got all over the wall. No one is sure how...but it did. I laughed!

Last time I wrote, I mentioned that I was going back to Kansas with Mommy for my cousins' second birthday. It was my first time on a plane, and it was very exciting. Tyler and Madelyn had a circus birthday and it was super fun. We played with balloons and I watched them eat cake and ice cream. Daddy says when I turn 1, I can taste ice cream and cake too.

While I was in Kansas, I got to meet my Great-Grandma Liebsch. She was very nice and so beautiful. I can't wait to see her again.

Not long after I got back to Colorado, Daddy's brother, my Uncle Ted, came to visit. Uncle Ted brought my Aunt Jenny and my cousins Jonah, Tess, and Tatum with him. Grandma and Grandpa Douglass came up too. We had lots of fun celebrating Daddy's and Uncle Ted's birthdays. Cousin Jonah and Tess and Mommy planned a Star Wars birthday party. We played games and wore 3-D glasses. There was even a pinata. We had chocolate cake and ice cream cake. What is it with ice cream and cake at birthdays???

While everyone was here, we went to the zoo and to Mr Bigg's family fun center. It was so great to see and meet everyone. My cousin Tess is REALLY funny.

I now have two teeth, and Mommy and Daddy have started feeding me rice cereal. It tastes okay...and I'm getting better about eating off of the spoon. I really like to hold the spoon myself, but for some reason, mommy and daddy prefer to hold it themselves. I did just get a new high chair. Now I can sit at the table with mommy and daddy when they eat their dinner. I feel like such a big boy when I get to sit at the table.

Oh, and I'm also sitting up. My favorite activity is sitting up and playing with my alphabet wheel that my Uncle Andy and Aunt Kellen gave me for Christmas. I love that toy. It makes all of these great animal sounds and sings the ABCs to me.

And, I have started sleeping through the night. Mommy used to wake me up in the middle of the night to eat. But I got her - I just kept sleeping and not really eating and she finally caught on. Now, I eat my last bottle in the evening and sleep all night. I feel so much more rested now that I'm not being woken up in the middle of the night.

And, my heart is doing great and I don't have to take any more medicine for it. The other day I was at the doctor's office and I weighed in at 14 lbs. 14 oz. Woo Hoo...The doctor says I have Thunder Thighs - what is that? Mommy says my thighs are cute.

And, my new favorite pose - Daddy says that I'm "Chill-Laxin" when I'm like this..but it is really comfortable. I like to sleep like this too. Sometimes, when I'm sitting up, I put my hands behind my head - but I lose my balance when I do that. I even put my hands behind my head when I was floating on my back at the pool.

And speaking of the pool - I went swimming with Mommy and Daddy last weekend. I'm not so sure what to think of that - It's kind of like a big bathtub, but with other kids. I hope we go back soon, I think I'm really going to like swimming.

And I still like my school - check out my school photos. Aren't I cute??

Next week, I'm headed on my first real road trip. We're going to New Mexico to stay at Grandma and Grandpa Douglass' and we're going to celebrate Easter. I've heard that the Easter Bunny will come and see me..so hopefully he'll know where I'm at if I'm not at home. Can't wait to meet the New Mexico gang.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!!!! I'm 3 months old today. Happy Birthday to me!

Oh my...it has been awhile since I last posted. Sorry about that, I've been busy. Let's see...to give you an update:

1. Christmas was awesome. I got so many great gifts - books, money, toys, a step stool with my name on it, and a full-set of Baseball and Football cards from my mommy and daddy. Daddy says that if I leave them unopened, they might be worth some money when I get older. We'll see if he knows what he's talking about. What else was really cool is that both Grandma and Grandpa Douglass and Grandma and Grandpa Liebsch came to spend my first christmas with me. We had a great time. I love them all so much.

2. I went to my first restaurant with Mommy on her birthday. She turned 33...she says that's old, but I think she's the most beautiful person in the whole world. Daddy and I gave her a charm bracelet that she can add charms to over the years. It's really pretty.

3. I've discovered my hands and feet - at least that is what my mommy and daddy call them. They're weird. They're connected to me and I can move them. I haven't quite figured out what to do with them, but I have noticed that I can put stuff in my hand and feel it. I'm starting to like that more and more. My Aunt Cindy made me a small toy with all different types of ribbon on it. I've started to get good at putting the ribbon in my hands.

4. I pooped on my mommy last week - Hehehehehe!!!! She had to throw away her shirt.

5. Mommy started back to work last week and I started going to day care. I go to Hope Montesorri Academy. I like it so far. My teachers are really nice and they've got neat toys there. Mommy says it's bitter sweet having to go back to work and that she misses hanging out with me all day.

6. I went back to the Cardiologist and Pediatrician last week. All is looking good with my heart and the doctor says that he's going to let me outgrown my blood pressure medicine. Yay me!!! Mommy had an ECHO done on her too and it turns out she has the same aortic dilation that I have - but she has a tricuspid valve and I only have a bicuspid valve. Crazy huh??

And the pediatrician says that I am doing really well. I weighed 10 lbs. 9 oz. at the visit and I'm 24 inches long. Mommy and daddy say I'm starting to grown out of some of my clothes so they keep buying me new ones. Check out these new shirts I got:

7. Grandma Liebsch is coming to visit me next week. And, in February, I get to go to my first little kid birthday party for my cousins Tyler and Madelyn in Topeka, KS. They're turning 2! And, to go to the birthday party, I get to go on my first airplane ride. I'm so excited. I hope they'll let me help fly the plane.

8. And, I go to a really cool exercise class at Gymboree. So, it's not really exercise, but they sing songs and do all kinds of fun activities. I really like music, so this is right up my alley. There are 3 other kids in my class - Evan, Aiden and Michaela. Michaela's parents were in mommy and daddy's birth class - so we kind of already knew them.

9. I'm looking forward to watching the Superbowl with Daddy. He says it's one of the best sporting events of the year. We'll know tomorrow who will be playing. Daddy says we hope the Steelers and the Bears make the Superbowl because the Steelers is Uncle Ted Douglass' favorite team and the Bears are our friend Mike's favorite team.

10. And, of course, it's college basketball time. I'm a Kansas Jayhawk fan and they just lost to Texas - boo!!!! I cried.

Gotta go......it's Saturday night and there is a party in my crib. Adios!
Love ya,
Liam
